AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Disgraced Texas banker Allen Stanford contributed money to political candidates. It is money that some politicians consider almost dirty and have already announced they are giving to charity.

President Barack Obama and Senator John McCain have announced they will donate money given to their campaigns.

Texas U.S. Senators John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison also received funds. ProNews 7 checked with them to hear their plans for the money.

Stanford's group gave Cornyn $19,700 and a trip for the senator and his wife to the Caribbean worth $7,441.

Cornyn's spokesperson told ProNews7 that the trip was for "fact finding" and that he has no current plans to get rid of the donations. He says he considers Stanford innocent until proven guilty.

Hutchison on the other hand has said that she will donate the $7,300 Stanford gave her.

ProNews 7 contacted Hutchison's office Thursday for comment but have not heard which charity she plans to donate to.
