AUSTIN, TEXAS (AP) -- About 19,000 more tests of Texas high school athletes have produced seven more confirmed results of steroid use.
Results released Friday by the University Interscholastic League are from tests done September through December.
Along with the seven confirmed results of steroid use, 10 more cases showed elevated testerone levels and require more testing.
Texas has the largest high school testing program in the country, aimed at testing up to 50,000 students.
Since February 2008, the first 29,000 tests have produced only 11 cases of confirmed steroids use, causing some state lawmakers to question the value of the $6 million program.
