Screen gave way in 3rd story apartment
PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS -- According to Port Arthur Fire Dept. Battalion Chief Patrick Murphy, a 19-month-old girl is lucky to be alive. The young child is in the hospital after falling from a third story window at an apartment complex.
According to the girl's mother, the toddler was near an open window leaning on the screen when it gave way and her child fell, landing on grass below.
The toddler was transported by ambulance to Christus St. Elizabeth Hosptial and officials say she is doing well.
