If you haven't started filling your forms, you better get to it. That's because the CPA's we talked to say they're seeing a lot more people filing late.
AMARILLO, TX -- It's payback time, or if you're lucky, time to collect a rebate check from the government. If you haven't checked the calendar lately, beware - you now have less than a month to file that tax return. That's because the CPA's we talked to say they're seeing a lot more people filing late.
The reason could be because people issuing your 10-99 forms were given more time, which results in you getting your forms later as well. Also making it a little more complicated this year first-time home-buyers can get a credit payback because of President Obama's new stimulus package.
Mike Connor, a certified CPA from Connor, McMillon, Mitchell, and Shennum (CMMS) said it's easy to make mistakes using tax preparation software, but if you're going to use it, he has one piece of advice for you, " The first thing they need to remember is the sooner the better, uh, um I don't I think I want to do this at 11 o'clock on April the 14th," Connor, a managing partner.
Another here's another tip from Conner, filing over the internet will get you that rebate check a little bit faster.
