Have a good time for a great cause
AMARILLO -- Will you go to the prom with me?
It is a question high school girls dream of hearing from the right boy.
Now, it is your turn to ask it again.
Martha's Home, a local homeless shelter for women and children, is holding a Second Chance Prom Saturday.
Tickets are $50 a couple or $30 each and will buy you a night of dancing to live music, food and fun.
"We'll have a silent auction and sweetheart photos and vow renewals in case you'd like to renew your marriage vows and a really unique activity will be the guessing game of local celebrity's high school pictures," said Mary Kay Khurts, Martha's Home.
All profits go to support Martha's Home. They say the home is all about second chances.
"We help them get on their feet, start over fresh and help them get their education, get jobs, get HUD housing so that they can get out in the world and be productive community citizens," said Khurts.
It is happening Saturday evening at the Amarillo Civic Center Grand Plaza.
You can get tickets by calling Martha's Home at 372-4035 or at www.panhandletickets.com.
If there are any left, tickets will also be available at the door.
Suggested attire is dressy.
