National Weather Service out of Amarillo, hosted a severe weather workshop
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo's National Weather Service along with local meteorologists, held a severe weather workshop at the civic center on Saturday.
The workshop featured information on storm spotting, different types of severe weather, and had various presentations. Our storm search seven team was on hand programming weather radios.
The workshop was designed to get the public involved and prepare folks for severe weather season. It's something that Panhandle residents are always interested in.
"We have a high interest in weather here, it effects agriculture, and our daily lives here maybe more than some other parts of the country, so people have a higher interest in weather and they just want to know about it and understand it," said Steve Drillette, National Weather Service.
