Six Flags could serve alcoholic beverages
AUSTIN, TEXAS -- The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission issued permits to Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Arlington yesterday.
This means that Six Flags could serve alcoholic beverages at its parks. An investigation was launched into the subject after the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission received protest letters from members of the public who thought allowing the sale of booze would affect public safety. Following a public hearing in October, a judge decided that it would not affect the safety of the pubic or the general welfare of the people visiting the park. Protesters had twenty days after that order to file a motion for rehearing. Carl Fors, with Texas Sober, filed that motion on March 2nd but the TABC Administrator denied that it. The TABC issued the permits the same.
