AMARILLO, TEXAS -- B&W Pantex received three Pollution Prevention Awards from the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) Pollution Prevention Awards Program.

Honored activities included recycling initiatives, Environmental Management System (EMS) Program and incorporation of digital x-ray equipment to replace the chemical and photographic film X-ray processor.

"Our goal is to improve our work by moving Pantex Plant toward more environmentally friendly and efficient processes," said Greg Meyer, B&W Pantex President and General Manager. "We have been very successful in the past and will continue to focus on projects that help us accomplish this goal. It is an honor to have the NNSA recognize our efforts."

B&W Pantex was recognized in three areas: Recycling, Environmental Management System (EMS) and Waste Minimization/Pollution Prevention.
