SAN MARCOS, TEXAS (AP) -- Students at 14 Texas State University dormitories haven't found themselves in hot water lately, and that's not a good thing.

The boiler that keeps the hot water flowing has been out since Wednesday, but repairs appeared to be holding last night and hot water should be flowing again today.

University Vice President Bill Nance apologized to the students, their parents and the university staff in an e-mail Monday, saying the parents expect better living conditions for their children than had been provided, the Austin American-Statesman reported in its online edition Monday.

Two boilers failed in February, prompting the installation of a temporary boiler, which failed.

Two new boilers are being installed and will go online in April and May.
