GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS (AP) -- Grand Prairie police say a 78-year-old woman was sexually assaulted and set on fire by a man who may have been selling magazines.

The woman, whose name wasn't released by police, is recovering at a Dallas hospital from second-degree burns from her chin to her stomach.

Detective John Brimmer says the elderly woman yesterday allowed the man into her home after he said he was doing a communications exercise that would help him get into college.

Brimmer says the attacker told the woman that he earned more "points" by talking to more people.

He said he was a 22-year-old from Chicago named "Daniel" who was living in a motel.

Police believe the man poured rubbing alcohol on the woman before setting her ablaze.
