AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The high winds also helped fuel grass fire in the Texas Panhandle, fortunately none of the fire got out of control.

Frank-Phillips College, in Borger, had to evacuated a part of their campus because of a fire off of highway 136. We are told that the building wasn't damaged and things are back to normal at the school. Classes will be held as usual tonight. Crews in Hutchison County also worked four fires in a very short amount of time. The worst fire was just east of Borger but is under control, it burned over 200 acres. Fire crews worked fires in Deaf Smith and Gray counties.

Despite the high winds, the fire in Wheeler is now 99% contained, according to the Texas Forest Service. The forest services did update the amount of acreage burned to 17,000 acres.
