AMARILLO, TEXAS (AP) -- Police have charged a 26-year-old man with murder following the shooting deaths of two people at an Amarillo home.
Potter-Randall Special Crimes Lt. Gary Trupe says the bodies of Stephanie Beard and Daniel Brittain, both 24, were found over the weekend.
He says police arrested Wilbert Ramon Banks Saturday afternoon after an anonymous tipster revealed Banks' location.
Trupe says Banks has been charged with one count of murder.
Banks also had an outstanding warrant for domestic violence.
Trupe tells the Amarillo Globe-News for its Saturday online editions that police do not know why Beard and Brittain were killed, but six others in the home -- including four children -- were not injured.
Trupe says that the children, who range in age from 1 to 5, were taken into custody by Child Protective Services and later released to family members.
