AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An Amarillo teen accused of reporting a false alarm that caused a lockdown at Tascosa High School back in February has been indicted by a Potter County grand jury.
17-year-old Jessica Ruiz was indicted on one count of false alarm or report emergency stemming from the February 25th incident where she allegedly called in a tip to Student Crime Stoppers that she saw a student put a handgun into a locker at the school.
Amarillo police responded and put the school on lockdown while they searched for the gun.
No gun was ever found, and Ruiz was arrested for making the false report, which is a state jail felony.
