Clovis driver killed in semi accident near Hereford

HEREFORD, TEXAS -- A Clovis, New Mexico woman is dead after an early morning accident near Hereford.

Friday morning around 3:02AM, Deaf Smith county sheriff's officers responded to the accident on US 385, about 7 miles north of Hereford.

Witnesses reported that two semi trucks had collided, and that one of the trucks was on fire.

Sheriff Brent Harrison told ProNews 7 that 38-year-old Tina Howell was ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Karen Foster.

The driver of the other vehicle was treated and released from Hereford Regional Medical Center.
