AMARILLO, TEXAS -- AISD named the 2008-09 Elementary & Secondary Teachers of the Year on Friday morning at the Lamar Lively Teacher of the Year breakfast, sponsored by the Education Credit Union.
Carolyn Kennedy of Wolfin Elementary received the honor of AISD Elementary Teacher of the Year and Houston Middle School's Jermaine Cantu was named AISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.
The process began in January when the 54 campus teachers of the year were selected.
In March, AISD named six finalists in the district's Teacher of the Year program.
The two winners will become the district's entries in the regional and state Teacher of the Year selection process.
