Amarillo Special Crimes Unit makes progress on the Bambi Lynn Dick case
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- 26 years ago, a 17 year old went to a concert, and disappeared.
She was marked as a runaway.
Soon after, Amarillo Police found a body on US 287 who they could not identify.
Now, police know the body was the so-called runaway, Bambi Lynn Dick.
This week, investigators are making progress in finding out, who killed Bambi Dick.
The Amarillo Special Crimes Unit has sent two investigators to Davenport, Iowa to work with police there, and to question Dick's family, friends and people who were with her before she disappeared, in hopes of finding some answers.
Lieutenant Gary Trupe, of the Special Crimes Unit says, "We need to talk to her parents, we need to talk with those friends who can't come down here who were with Bambi those last few days. We're hoping that the shock of this and finding out that Bambi was indeed murdered, that there will be something they've thought about, that they've remembered something I don't know."
Trupe said he hopes to have an update on Dick's case by the end of this week, keep checking connectamarillo.com for more updates.
