Amarillo church, shows appreciation to fire, EMS, and law enforcement officers

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- St. Stephen, United Methodist Church, hosted a reception and service to honor fire, ems, and law enforcement officers on their annual, Public safety appreciation Sunday.

The annual event, extends a welcome and offers appreciation to those who keep the community safe.

Several families and officers from Potter, and Randall county sheriff's department, the Amarillo Police Department, and the Amarillo Fire Department, all made it down to the reception and service.

"It's an honor to be able to bring these guys in and just let them know that we appreciate the job that they do, a lot of times it's a thank less job and so we want to be able to extend a thanks to them," said Brian Thomas, Potter County Sheriff.

One after one, community members shook hands and thanked the officers individually, and really made the public service officers feel welcome and appreciated.
