DALLAS, TEXAS (AP) -- A former suburban Dallas high school football coach accused of pawning $100,000 worth of school equipment has been indicted.
Records show former Mesquite coach Stephen Earl Halpin faces a charge of abuse of official capacity.
He was indicted last month.
No attorney information for Halpin was available to comment on his case Thursday.
An investigation began following reports of missing cameras, laptop computer and projector by school staff, The Dallas Morning News reported.
Some equipment later reappeared mysteriously.
Investigators say Halpin had pawned items over 18 months.
Halpin, 53, has resigned as the president of the Texas High School Coaches Association, saying he has a gambling addiction.
