Crossings at SE 3rd, Grand and Eastern

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A lot of people have been working on improving some of the intersections in Northeast Amarillo.

Tuesday evening, BNSF railroad and the Texas Department of Transportation put together a public meeting to take in some more ideas about the intersections at S.E. 3rd, Grand and Eastern.

Both organizations have plans to either build an overpass at those locations, or to move the tracks.

Either way, the project will cost about $8 million, $3 million of which TxDOT hopes to get from federal stimulus funds through the Amarillo Metropolitan Planning Organization.

The City of Amarillo will put up the remaining $5 million.
