GUYMON, OKLAHOMA -- There's a good chance your business is running well if it started in an incubator. Some 80% of them are successful. That's why Guymon, Oklahoma has set up a business enterprise center, to give small businesses a location and tax exemptions.
That center offers 5,400 square feet of office space for rent, and more than 16,000 square feet of industrial or warehouse space.
Two start up businesses, high plains ice and panhandle irrigation, are running in the incubator now. Community development leaders believe the operation will boost their economy years into the future.
"Businesses are started here and graduate out in 3-5 years we hope that they will move into our industrial park and become a larger commercial provider, create new jobs and build our economy and diversify our economy," said Vicki Ayres-McCune, the Community Development Director.
The center also hopes to house a kitchen where food products will be made, and a distribution center to deliver them.
