Pampa Police respond to aggravated assault

PAMPA, TEXAS -- The Pampa Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault. The incident happened at 930 S. Finley street in Pampa.

Pampa Police say officers were called to the house in reference a suicidal person, when officers arrived on the scene, they found Brenda Lee Lucas, 45, holding a handgun. Lucas' husband tried to take the gun away from her when Lucas fired one shot in the air. Officers forced her to the ground at which time she threatened the officers with the gun. Officers were able to get the gun away from Lucas and placed Lucas under arrest. She was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, if convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Nobody was seriously injured during the incident.
