EL PASO, Texas (AP) - El Paso police are seeking a thief who stole personal items from the lockers of firefighters as they slept or were out on an emergency call.

Police believe someone got through a side window early Monday and into a locker room at Fire Station No. 21.

Capt. Robert Jacquez says the worst thing is serving the community and having someone breaking in and taking items.

Firefighters who returned from a call Monday discovered the thefts, including a laptop computer and the personal vehicle of one of the crewmembers. The pickup was later found, stripped of valuables, by El Paso police.

Fire stations across El Paso have been warned to increase security.
