Free HIV testing available in Amarillo tomorrow
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- More than 800 people in the Panhandle are living with AIDS.
Claudia Stravato of the Panhandle Family Planning and Health Centers says, to her knowledge, at least 5 other cases have been confirmed in Amarillo, this year.
Family Planning and Health Centers are holding free HIV testing at 211 East 16th , which is around the corner from the clinic, from 3-7 PM tomorrow.
Stravato says you might not know that you have HIV, so this testing is vital.
"HIV is a fatal disease. HIV is a disease people fear like no other. And if you have unprotected sex or multiple partners you're at high risk. There really is no reason not to be tested, " said Stravato.
Movie tickets will be given to the first 50 people tested.
