National Junior Limousin Show and Congress is underway in Amarillo
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- More than 600 competitors and family members from 21 different states are in Amarillo this week for the National Junior Limousin Show and Congress. The opening ceremonies were held Monday with the event running all week.
Competitors will show off their prize limousin bulls, steer and heifers, all hoping to win prize money, banners, and the title of National Champion.
The event will contribute more than $600,000 to the local economy, as participants and visitors eat out, stay in hotels and enjoy the entertainment of Amarillo.
The opening ceremonies featured the Ag commissioner, Amarillo's mayor and a fireworks show.
The Coors Cowboy Club cooked up chicken fried steaks to welcome the competitors to Amarillo.
