POTTER COUNTY, TEXAS -- At around 7:30 this morning two Hispanic males forced their way through the front door of  William Hasting, 76, home.

The suspects first confined a  female resident, 50, into a closet. The suspects then demanded money from Hastings, according to special crimes reports, Hastings fell onto a nearby bed and died. Police have not confirmed the cause of death, nor the weapon that may have been used.

Hastings grandson, 11,  was in his bedroom sleeping during the break in, and has been taken into protective custody.
