AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The autopsy results for William Lean Hastings,76, are still pending, but it may not have been a weapon that killed him. Hastings died during a home invasion robbery that occurred at his home on 324 Willow Creek at 7:43 a.m. Monday.
Mr. Hastings did have prior medical problems that could have been made worse during this robbery; however more will be known after the preliminary autopsy. Justice of the Peace Debbie Horn did respond to the scene and did order that an autopsy be performed on Mr. Hastings in Lubbock, Texas.
Autopsy results are expected to come in tomorrow.
Police are still looking for the suspects in this case. Suspects are described as two Hispanic males. One had long hair and they both had moustaches. Both suspects were wearing ball caps.
After this robbery the suspects fled the home. No vehicle or direction of travel for the suspects was observed. Anyone with information about this Homicide/Robbery is asked to call the Special Crimes Unit at 378-9468, The Potter County Sheriff's Office at 379-2900 or Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
