AMARILLO, TEXAS -- If your to-do list includes dropping off the mail you may find soon that your usual drop box is missing.

Over the next three weeks 20 dark blue postal drop boxes will be hauled off.

The post office is looking for ways to better utilize their resources. The city picked which boxes would be removed by performing density tests. The boxes being removed are ones around the city that are rarely used.

There will be a notice on the box 10 days in advance, along with directions to the nearest box that is still in operation.
