AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Board of Regent's for Amarillo College held a meeting today to discuss a possible increase to it's current tax rate.

If the rate is passed, it will increase .08 cents per $100 of assessed value. That means if you own a $100,000 house, your taxes would go up another 18 cents.

Before they can approve the tax increase they will hold two public meetings to hear from you. Those are scheduled for August 14th and 17th at noon at the College Union Building on campus.
