CLOVIS, NEW MEXICO -- Investigators say a man who escaped from custody this month, was given aid from his sister, as well as his girlfriend.

According to the Clovis News Journal, Bobby Owen was able to get away from police custody at the hospital after the two females hid handcuff keys in the bathroom.

Savannah Owen, 23, and Estrellita Sanchez, 22, are charged with felony assisting escape.

An officer who let Owen in the bathroom unescorted was dismissed for violating policy.

Owen's escape was short lived, as he was apprehended hours later at an apartment in Clovis.
