CURRY COUNTY, NEW MEXICO -- A surprise shakedown of the Curry County Detention Center finds more than 50 razor blades and other contraband.
The Clovis News Journal reports that 30 law enforcement officers were involved with Thursday's shakedown.
Along with razor blades, officers also found several homemade tattoo guns, ink, syringes, two metal shanks and a two-foot long makeshift spear.
The shakedown comes a day after detention administrator Lois Bean was fired for failing to make changes as instructed.
