FDA cracks down on flavored cigarettes--how will that affect sales in Amarillo?
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Cigarette smokers and vendors in Amarillo are fired up about the FDA's ban on flavored cigarettes.
The FDA had flavored cigarettes pulled from shelves at the end of the day Monday because research has shown that those products are marketed to children and teenagers.
But the clerks that we spoke with say their business is being affected and that they should be allowed to do their job and keep the squares out of the hands of minors.
On the other hand Tobacco Free Amarillo says the flavored cigarettes are obviously marketed to make cigarettes more paletable for youth and the ban is a step in the right direction.
