DALHART, TEXAS -- This morning the city of Dalhart packed the streets to welcome home fallen soldier Sergeant David Davis, 28.

Davis was flown in just before 10 a.m. and from the Dalhart airport to downtown, the streets were packed with proud citizens honoring Davis for his service, and his courage for giving his life for his country.

Gaye Barton a high school teacher of Davis's said he was a great kid and a great student, and she is very proud for what he did for America. Barton said "I can't tell you how proud I am for him to give his life so that my grandkids can go to school where they want to so that I can go to church where I want to. He made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us not just here in Dalhart but all over the world."

The funeral for Davis is being held tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart
