AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Alligator, buffalo, possum, and clams may not sound like appealing ingredients but somehow 26 teams were able to make those and much more into chili to benefit a good cause today.

The United Way's combined federal campaign hosted a chili cook off this afternoon at the VA hospital. Awards were given to the most unusual, best, spiciest and best dressed.

The cost to get in was 5 bucks a bowl, and all of the proceeds benefited the United Way of Canyon and Amarillo.

Speaking of the United Way, you still have time to get out to the Canyon Nights Gala at the Hazel Kelly Wilson Alumni Banquet Hall over at WT starting at 6:30 p.m. The dress is evening attire and you can buy tickets at the door.
