148 of the Panhandle's war veterans head to Washington D.C.
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- 148 of the nation's finest veterans have just landed in Washington D.C. to see their war memorials for the first time. For many of these veterans, it is a long overdue "thank you" or "goodbye" that they get to experience over the next three days.
They have the opportunity to tour their war memorials and Washington D.C. which one veteran we spoke with says will be the first time he has set foot there, since he passed through on his way to war.
The veterans and their caretakers will be in Washington D.C. for three days and will return Friday.
