Senator tours state with Texas Farm Bureau
DALLAS (AP) -- Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison is on the road with the head of the Texas Farm Bureau to promote a state proposition limiting how the state government can take private property.
Hutchison, who's challenging Gov. Rick Perry in the Republican primary election, made a stop in Dallas on Monday urging voters to approve Proposition 11. It's one of 11 measures on the Nov. 3 ballot.
The Farm Bureau has endorsed Hutchison. Perry and the bureau have been at odds over private property rights in connection with Perry's now-dead plan to build a Trans-Texas Corridor toll road across the state.
Early voting for the propositions begin Monday.
