AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The 47th District Attorney's office announced that Leonardo Palomeres Ladezma will spend the next 35 years in prison.

The DA's office said that Ladezma was pulled over on I-40 for speeding. Troopers were conducting a search of the car when they noticed the tailgate wouldn't come down, it turned out that an unusual metal plate was bolted to that area. Troopers found over 9 pounds of meth. Ledezma was heading from Phoenix to an unknown city in Oklahoma.
