BUSHLAND, TEXAS -- Red Cross Volunteers rushed to the scene of the natural gas pipeline explosion in Bushland to offer their services. The volunteers prepared to open an emergency shelter, and assisted with the evacuation receiving center at Bushland Middle School. Approximately 100 residents gathered at the school while they waited for permission from emergency personnel to return to their homes. The Red Cross was prepared with coffee,donuts and cots for those who wanted to rest. But fortunately most of the people were able to leave the center by f5am. The Red Cross remains on standby to offer assistance to the families whose homes were destroyed by the explosion. The non-profit organization will help with funds to support immediate housing needs, food and clothing.
