The Borger Economic Development Cooperation approved a deal to provide a $72,000 package to Fritch company Blue Creek Mercantile. The money will help the company enter the gun ammunition market at the first part of next year.

According to Dan Redd, CEO, of the BEDC half of the money will act as a loan, while the other half will be a grant if the employment level is at the agreed mark by the end of the first year of ammunition production.

The company will produce .380, .40, and .45 calibers, it anticipates that by the end of the ninth month of the first year they will begin producing rifle ammunition as well. The machine they have will put out about 4400 rounds per hour.

Right now Blue Creek Mercantile is based out of Fritch, but as they expand the company could move into Borger.
