AMARILLO -- A scam on debit cards now has Amarillo National Bank putting a block on all purchases in California.  The fraud department says folks from this area are taking card numbers and then purchasing items in California.

So far they have blocked more than $100,000 in losses, and issued 2,000 new cards to customers.  Bank officials say they do have some tips to keep you safe, including paying with cash.

"I would get an online account and check online everyday because you see the transactions posting as they come in, so you'll be able to alert us sooner, and we can get the card shut down," said Jerry Ivy, the fraud investigator at Amarillo National Bank.

Ivy said a group of people have already been arrested as police investigate. If your card was affected ANB says contact them, and it will return your money, issue you a new card, and take the loss.
