Three volunteers from Habitat for Humanity are now back in Amarillo after building homes for the needy in Thailand. The group joined in with 2,000 other volunteers to build more than 80 homes for people in need.
The houses are 400 square feet, and have a concrete foundation, windows, and underground plumbing; that's something the organization said families who will live in these houses didn't have before.
"We believe in mission work, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, decent affordable home, and that includes people from other countries and we are dedicated to uh, the mission of our organization, and that includes tithe," said Stephen Smart, the executive director.
Those families should be able to move into their new homes, once they're fully completed, in mid-December.
