AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Residents of the Texas Panhandle woke up to snow Sunday morning.

The snow moved into the area while many were asleep, which led to a surprise Sunday morning.  As of 11:00 a.m., road conditions appear to be drivable.  Pronews 7 talked to a spokesman for the Texas Department of Transportation, who said the snow seems to be hitting the road and melting away.  TxDot crews are at work, mainly focusing on bridges and overpasses trying to keep them from freezing.   Paul Braun, with TxDot, said plows could be used west of town to help remove the snow from I-40,  plows could also be used around the Hereford area.

For the most part, people seemed to be enjoying the snowy Sunday.  Pronews 7 caught up with one family who spent the morning making snow angles.
