Welcome Home Rally for troops
AMARILLO -- Home for the Holidays, Rick Husband International Airport was the site of another welcome home rally Tuesday, as more returning troops made it home in time for Christmas.
Members of America Supports You Texas, and the Hardcore Ministry were on hand with flags and signs to welcome home Aviation Ordinance Airman Recruit Amelia Aguilar, and Airman First Class Garrett Dressler.
"It was real nice to know that I was going to be home for this Christmas, get to see a lot of my family, it's nice, it's real nice," said Garrett Dressler, Airman First Class.
"It's the one thing we all wanted to happen, the most special thing that could have happened was to get my son home," said Perri Tredway, Mom.
There will be another welcome home rally on Christmas Eve, as U.S. Marine Lieutenant Todd Hancock, another Amarillo native comes in from Afghanistan. The arrival is scheduled for 10:57 AM on Thursday.
