(AP) -- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Weather was blamed for a three-car crash on U.S. 285 in Santa Fe County that claimed the life of one person.
Santa Fe County sheriff's deputies say a sports utility vehicle spun out on the icy road and crashed head-on into a second vehicle, which was then hit by a third vehicle behind it.
Wintery weather made for a tough commute Wednesday morning in the Albuquerque area and other parts of the state because of icy roads left by a snowstorm.
The state Transportation Department reports intermittent rain and snow on Interstate 25 in the Albuquerque area and Interstate 10 in southern New Mexico.
The department also says driving is difficult in other parts of New Mexico due to snowpacked and icy conditions.
