Something one woman is hoping will grow, is an understanding of the reason for the season. Palo Duro High School alumna Natalie McMillan wrote a christian book entitled, "The Making of a New Church."
She says some of the traditions of today's church man has put in, not God. So she wants folks to understand the true meaning of god's messages, that he is guiding everyone.
She says many times God gives people signals, but it's hard to see them, so her book shows how to listen and find them.
"My goal is for the people to gain understanding. Many times we ask questions but we don't gain the understanding, we gain a lot of knowledge. But gaining the understanding doesn't come from what we see, it comes from what we do not see, and from a higher power," said Natalie McMillan, the author of "The Making of a New Church."
She continued, saying it's not the trinkets and toys, this Christmas is about Christ.
