CLOVIS, NEW MEXICO -- A Curry County Commissioner is hoping to become a Clovis City Commissioner as well. The Clovis News Journal reports that Dan Stoddard is hoping to be the second Clovis resident to be a part of both the city and county commissions. Stoddard is an assisted living facility owner, and intends to file Tuesday for the open seat in the Clovis City's Commission's fourth district.

The city seat is currently held by Ron Edwards. Edwards, said during the commission's Dec 17 meeting that he did not plan to run for a second term.

If elected, Stoddard, 50, will join Bobby Sandoval on both commissions.
