CLOVIS, NEW MEXICO -- Curry County Commissioners meet today one item on the agenda will address the Tres Amigas power station in the northern part of the county. According to the Clovis News Journal the commissioners will consider a resolution supporting the development of that power station. Officials have said the power hub, will connect the nation's three major electrical grids. It would route energy from isolated wind and solar installations to urban centers and other place that consume the most power.
Another item on the agenda is a resolution to support House Bill 15. The bill is sponsored by Clovis' Anna Crook and would create an Eastern New Mexico Water Utility Authority, which would "provide an organized structure to work with state, local and federal agencies to complete a water delivery system from the Ute Reservoir to local governments."
Other items to be discussed include an audit for last fiscal year.
Consider a resolution outlining compliance with the New Mexico Open Meetings Act.
Review and approve commission committees for 2010.
Consider a resolution establishing commission meetings at alternate locations for 2010.
Discuss a study by the state transportation department regarding a traffic signal at U.S. 60/84 and Wheaten Road.
Following the meeting commissioners will reconvene in the courthouse for executive session.
