CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) - A Corpus Christi youth whose $600 pig was swiped from his school's new agricultural barn has received two donated hogs.
Weldon Kemp hopes to have the pigs ready for upcoming stock shows.
Kemp in October had his female red Duroc stolen from the 38,000-square-foot ag barn at Calallen High School.
The 17-year-old senior hoped his pig would earn him prize money for college. Kemp wants to be a minister.
Corpus Christi police believe the hog was slaughtered and cooked. One man has pleaded guilty over the theft and received probation. Two others remain under indictment.
Breeder Clint Curry gave Kemp a registered red Duroc, which could be shown at the San Antonio Stock Show. Another family friend donated a pig for Kemp raise for this month's Nueces County Junior Livestock Show.
