(AP) -- ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - A collision involving an Arlington motorcycle officer and a school bus hauling students to morning classes left the policeman dead.
Police spokeswoman Tiara Ellis Richard says the wreck happened around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday and the officer was dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released.
The Arlington Independent School District says nobody on the bus was injured.
Richard told The Associated Press that the bus and the motorcycle were moving at the time of the accident.
The district says the bus carried the driver plus nine students who attend Crow, Ditto and Dunn elementary schools, and Bailey and Young junior highs.
The children were transported to nearby Arlington High School to speak with police, before being released to their parents or taken to their campuses.
Arlington is midway between Dallas and Fort Worth.
