AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Emergency responders want to make sure you know what to do when disaster strikes, so they held their 2nd Annual Panhandle Preparedness Conference Wednesday.

The City of Amarillo along with the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission say this conference gets them all on the same page in case of an emergency.

The bomb squad, fire department, and even the A.P.D. mobile unit were on hand to help exlpain their equipment.

"Today the focus was on continuity of operations, how they can get back to normal as quickly as possible, and to provide service of their City and Counies to the citizens." said Walt Kelley from Emergency Management.

Over 500 folks showed up today, and next year they would love to see an extra 500.
