AMARILLO, TEXAS -- It has helped wake you up in Amarillo since 1992, but now Roasters coffee wants to help you relax in the evening.

The Amarillo native chain has requested a beer and wine license. They hope to begin selling gourmet beer and wine in April.

Store Manager Craig Gualtiere says this idea came from his customers. He's always trying to rejuvenate the stores, and he thought this was the perfect way to do it.

"There's very few places you can go where there are comfortable chairs, and has the large space that we have and enjoy a high quality beer or wine, where it's non smoking."

Roasters plans to add more seating and special features to their front porch to give customers an outdoor atmosphere they say will be perfect for kicking back.
